In 2023, the SHAD-NAD company, a worldwide leader in seats, cases and bike accessories, celebrates the 50th anniversary of its successful professional journey. Founded in 1973, the company created by Jaume Xicola Gascón in a workshop displays its history of professional evolution with some key milestones:
- Present in more than 80 countries on 5 different continents.
- More than 6,000 points of sale.
- More than 2,500,000 product units produced and distributed annually.
- 4 production centers located in Barcelona, Jakarta and Shanghai.
- More than 10 proprietary patents registered.
From Barcelona for the entire world
In recent years, SHAD has been consolidated as a major brand in main motorcycle markets. In addition to Barcelona, where the brand’s headquarters is located, as well as part of the manufacturing, the company also has subsidiaries in Jakarta, Indonesia and Shanghai, China, key locations for its international expansion. Even though SHAD-NAD maintains the production of 70% of its turnover in Barcelona, its countries with subsidiaries are responsible for the rest of the production, with 25% in China and 5% in Indonesia.
A product on the cutting edge
On a market level, SHAD-NAD has managed to become a leader in design and innovation.
The company’s history reflects its drive to offer solutions in line with the mobility trends of the future. These range from rigid, top and side cases made from synthetic materials and comfort seats, to specific fittings for each model of bike or scooter, permitting various equipment options. In addition, it has added other products, such as cases for quads, bags and accessories for riders, and in its latest business division, SHAD BIKES, products focused on urban cyclists.
50th anniversary celebration with its partners
The final touch on this half century of professional activity has been the celebration with the company’s contributors:
The event was held at the Mas Corts estate and was attended by more than 400 people. Jaume Xicola Gascón, company president and founder, thanked everyone for so many years of consolidated activity with some emotional words prior to an impressive concert by the Gran Teatro del Liceo Symphony Orchestra. In addition, the current CEO, Jaume Xicola Serrano, proposed new challenges for the company and captured the audience’s attention with his message with a view to the future.
The celebration also took place in the form of a commemorative dinner at the SHAD subsidiaries in China and Indonesia.
